Ropes Knots & Lashings CourseFound another tangle of string in the kitchen drawer? Frustrated at knots that seem too complicated or fall apart? The Rope, Knots & Lashings course will introduce you to a host of useful knots that you can use whether simply hanking a piece of string or climbing your next mountain. During this course you’ll;
- learn & practice making natural cordage
- learn the terms used in rope work
- learn how to hank cordage and coil ropes
- learn a host of basic and more advanced knots
- learn & practice rigging a tarpaulin ready for your next bushcraft adventure
Don't worry about trying to remember everything as you'll also receive a course handout!
Where is the course being held?
The course is being run at our 24 acre mixed woodland & heathland venue is located just outside Goostrey in Cheshire, just 3.5 miles away from Junction 18 of the M6, providing the easiest of access while retaining that wilderness feeling. Venue directions will be emailed to you after you have purchased your place(s) on the course.
How long does the course last for?
This 1 day course starts at around 09.30am and runs until around 4pm. Please don’t be late on the first day as we won’t be at the meeting point after this time.
What do we need to bring?

What about food & drinks?**
There will be a camp fire with a kettle simmering over it & we will be providing tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits during the course. Food will not be provided on this course, so please do bring sandwiches, etc with you. If you have specific dietary/allergen requirements, please let us know as soon as possible after booking your place(s) on the course so that we can make arrangements to accommodate these.

- The minimum participant age for this course is 14 years old.
- We regret that wheelchair access to the woods is not currently possible.
- No dogs are allowed at the venue at any time.
A Consent & Medical Declaration Form is required for each person attending the course. These need to be returned to us at our office no later than 48 hours before the start time of the course. These will be emailed to you once you have booked your place(s) on the course, but you can also download the forms from this page. If you have specific dietary/allergen requirements, please let us know as soon as possible after booking your place(s) on the course so that we can make arrangements to accommodate these.
