Since the middle of the last century, “Beckolja” (i.e. tar oil) has been used by the inhabitants of Northern Scandinavia; partly as a remedy, partly as a protection against Mosquitoes and Gnats. For the peasants and country people in this part of the world, “Beckolja” has been – and will always be – a permanent companion and friend, wherever they go. When peat-harvesting, people brought it along together with their food packet and coffee pot.

“Beckolja” is a genuine natural product made from boiled tar and has an aromatic flavour of forest and wildness.
