Fire Dragon Fuel Tablets
FireDragon can boil 500 ml of water in 5 minutes. This is over 2 minutes faster than the second best performing fuel. Meths boiled the same amount of water in 7 minutes, Hexamine in 7.5 minutes and Liquid Ethanol Gel in 7.75 minutes. That’s a massive 2.75 minutes longer than FireDragon.
During manufacturers tests, Fire Dragon fuel outperformed the traditional rivals in the market; namely hexamine blocks, ethanol fuel gel & meths. This chart shows the water temperature relative to burn times of the various products. Its clear to see which is the best!

Well I recieved my fire dragon tablets on 21/10/14 and as we all know the weather was terrible 20-45mph winds and the night before it had rained constantly. On reading the packaging the usual blurb was read with a degree of sceptism. So I took my normal fire lighting kit with me. Finding a suitably wet area in the woods I set about gathering a handful of pencil thickness Elder and gathered soaking wet kindling (thumb thickness) off the floor…well I didn’t want to make it too easy for the DRAGON…I opened the packet and emptied the block out, surprised at the jelly like object I assumed it would be more squishy, I got a fire steel out and also a lighter, too my surprise the dragon ignited off the first strike with the fire steel WOW , the resulting mini inferno was truly amazing…totally unexpected. I placed the Elder on and it immediately took to flame. I then thought I would make it work so I dumped on the rest of the kindling …soaking wet… The dragon didn’t falter one bit, ten minutes later I was having a brew and eating a fried egg butty….to anyone who is sceptical about fire lighting aids….DONT BE …..these really are a great bit of kit either for a single brew in a crusader cook system or starting a bigger cook fire in bad conditions I will be carrying these around with me in my fire lighting kit from now on….I can highly recommend them they are the best I’ve tried.

Thank you Forest Skills for my delivery and very prompt too! I have used various fuel tablets but there are great. Because they are sealed there is no smell or fuel contamination, so I can store them in my mug. They are easy to use and boil a mug of water nicely. I have also used them to light fires when its been wet 🙂 all round very good!
