You’re still a little bit dazed & confused. You’re not quite sure how, but you’ve managed to survive. One thing you do know; the challenge of remaining a survivor has begun.

Could you survive? Could you look after your family, or those around you?

On this course you’ll learn what to do in a survival situation, how to react to the psychological pressures of being a survivor & how to remain a survivor. You’ll learn about;

  • the psychology of survival & the mental challenges that all disaster survivors face.
  • your initial response when faced with a survival situation including what you should & shouldn’t do
  • how to protect yourself from the elements
  • how to make fire using natural & man-made items
  • the importance of water & how to source, process & store it
  • how to make simple but effective tools & traps from litter & whatever else we find around us
  • how to prepare game meats
  • navigation using natural indicators & how to read the land & safely traverse it
  • the process of getting rescued & how to signal to your rescuers

Where is the course being held?

The course is being run at our 24 acre mixed woodland & heathland venue is located just outside Goostrey in Cheshire, just 3.5 miles away from Junction 18 of the M6, providing the easiest of access while retaining that wilderness feeling. Venue directions will be emailed to you after you have purchased your place(s) on the course.

How long does the course last for?

This two day course starts at around 09.30am and runs until around 4pm on day 2. Please don’t be late on the first day as we won’t be at the meeting point after this time.

What do we need to bring?

Please bring with you everything on our overnight kit list. You can view our kit list here; Kit List page.

What about food & drinks?**

There will be a camp fire with a kettle simmering over it & we will be providing tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits during the course. Food will be provided on this course, but please do also bring snacks with you. If you have specific dietary/allergen requirements, please let us know as soon as possible after booking your place(s) on the course so that we can make arrangements to accommodate these.

Restrictions

  1. The minimum participant age for this course is 18 years old.
  2. We regret that wheelchair access to the woods is not currently possible.
  3. No dogs are allowed at the venue at any time.

Anything else?

A Consent & Medical Declaration Form is required for each person attending the course. These need to be returned to us at our office no later than 48 hours before the start time of the course. These will be emailed to you once you have booked your place(s) on the course, but you can also download the forms from this page. If you have specific dietary/allergen requirements, please let us know as soon as possible after booking your place(s) on the course so that we can make arrangements to accommodate these.
