Game Preparation Course

For many people, whether outdoorsmen/women or not, the sometimes romantic notion of living off the land, is tinged with the realisation that to do so would require some basic butchery skills. While plants may sustain in the short term, there is much to be said for the protein to be had from the wild animals which hop, bound, flap & swim around us (to name just a few).

This course will teach you how to butcher game meats from being in feather, fur or scales, as well as different ways in which to cook them. We’ll also show you how to use and look after your knife, so that it is always in top shape ready for the next time you need it.

During the course you’ll;

  • learn how to use knives safely & how to maintain them
  • learn how to prepare several different game meats & fish ready for cooking or freezing
  • learn about several different ways to cook the meats including the benefits of each method
  • get to eat the meats & fish that you’ve prepared

(All of the meats used in this course are responsibly sourced from local registered game dealers.)
