First Aid Courses
The subject of First Aid and its training is a bit of a sticky subject at the moment as the official HSE Guidance (HSE publication L74) is rather out of date. So we’ll shortly be adding a First Aid FAQ page to help you through this minefield, and identifying whether you should have an ‘Appointed Person’ or a First Aider at your place of work, club or school.
In the mean time, please note that an ‘Appointed Person’ is not someone who can make an initial assessment of the injury/illness or who can give appropriate first aid to the casualty until help arrives; this is the role of a First Aider. An ‘Appointed Person’ takes charge of the first aid arrangements, such as looking after the first aid kit and calling for an ambulance in an emergency.
What level of First Aid Training do I need?As an employer or self employed person, you are legally required to provide first aid provision for yourself and your employees. The amount and level of that provision can only be determined by you risk assessing your workplace, club or school. The HSE website provides some good guidance on how to do this assessment.
As an approved training centre, Forest Skills Ltd are able to offer a wide range of Ofqual regulated first aid courses as well as bespoke courses.

We also offer our own First aid for Outdoor Education course. This is a 2 day course which combines the Level 3 Paediatric first aid course with the Level 3 Outdoor first aid course, meaning that on successful completion you will earn both certificates, but at one reduced price.
These prices reflect training taking place at our training centres. Please contact us if you’re interested in us running the training at your venue.
